この曲は八千代松陰高等学校の委嘱で作曲しました。
校名が吉田松陰に由来するとの事から「シャングリラ」という曲名にしました。
吉田松陰は幕末の思想家であり、教育者、政治家として知られています。彼は日本の近代化に向けた理想的な社会や国家像を持っており、その考え方は多くの人々に影響を与えました。
吉田松陰の理想郷は、志ある人材の育成、国の強化、自由平等な社会、国際的な交流を含むものであり、彼の思想は明治以降の日本においても大きな影響を与えました。彼の教育理念や国家観は、現代にも多くの示唆を与えるものとなっています。松陰の思想は彼自身の短い生涯を超えて、日本の未来を考える上での重要な指針となっています。（樽屋雅徳）

This piece was composed on commission for Yachiyo Shoin High School.
The title “Shangri-La” was chosen because the school’s name is derived from Shoin Yoshida.
Shoin Yoshida was a philosopher, educator, and politician in the late Edo period. He is known for his vision of an ideal society and nation, which greatly contributed to Japan’s modernization and influenced many people.
Yoshida’s concept of an ideal land included the cultivation of aspiring individuals, the strengthening of the nation, a free and equal society, and international exchange. His ideas continued to have a profound impact on Japan even after the Meiji Restoration.
Yoshida’s educational principles and vision for the nation still provide important insights today. His philosophy, transcending his short life, remains a significant guide for thinking about Japan’s future.
