Today, I book the cheapest private room called \u201cSolo\u201d (\u6700\u5b89\u306e\u500b\u5ba4 B\u5bdd\u53f0\u500b\u5ba4\u30bd\u30ed) from Tokyo Station to Izumoshi Station (\u6771\u4eac\u99c5\u304b\u3089\u51fa\u96f2\u5e02\u99c5). It&#8217;s a 950km (590 miles) trip that takes about 12 hours. When booking a Solo room, even if you are a foreign tourist with a JR pass, you will need to go to the ticket office and pay an additional sleeper private room fee in advance. In addition, I recommend you reserve a seat on the right side. This is because you can see other trains and a nice view of Lake Shinji. When you arrive in Izumo, it&#8217;s a good idea to visit the famous Izumo Taisha Shrine (officially Izumo Oyashiro \u51fa\u96f2\u5927\u793e \u3044\u305a\u3082\u304a\u304a\u3084\u3057\u308d) and eat the local specialty, Wariko Soba noodles (\u5272\u5b50\u854e\u9ea6).<\/p>\n<p>\u2606\u2605\u2606This is what it was actually like!\u2606\u2605\u2606<br \/>\n&#8212;12 hour trip on the Sunrise Express (Solo Room)&#8212;<br \/>\n* So many security cameras at Tokyo Station.<br \/>\n* Taking a warm shower on the train while it&#8217;s snowing outside was an unusual experience.<br \/>\n* If you have 12 hours, you can fly to the United States, but I felt that the slow journey itself was the real pleasure of traveling by train.<br \/>\n* The bed was fully flat and the mattress was soft so I didn&#8217;t get tired at all.<br \/>\n* I recommend booking a seat on the right side of the train so you can see the other trains and the beautiful view of Lake Shinji.<br \/>\n* Just in case, I bought a lucky charm for marriage at Izumo Taisha Shrine.
